A daily maths puzzle for adults
Word games made a daily puzzle part of millions of people's mornings. Numbers deserve the same: one short, satisfying puzzle a day, the same for everyone, that you can finish over a coffee and compare with friends.
Why a daily number puzzle?
Most adults rarely do arithmetic in their heads any more; a phone does it for us. A few minutes of mental maths each day keeps those skills in use: adding up a bill, checking change, working out a discount. We won't promise it will make you a genius, but it's a quick, enjoyable way to practise, and a lot more satisfying than scrolling.
What makes a good daily puzzle
Short. A few minutes, not half an hour.
The same for everyone. Part of the fun is knowing your friends solved exactly the same puzzle today.
Easy to learn, hard to master. The rule should fit in one sentence, with room to get faster and better.
Shareable without spoilers. A result you can post that shows how you did without giving away the answers.
How Beequation works
The rule fits in one sentence: in every honeycomb, one number is made from two others, by adding them or multiplying them. Find it and tap it.

108, because 12 × 9 = 108.The Daily Pro
Every day there's a new numbered hive: ten mixed puzzles, the same for everyone that day. Your time and a grid of coloured hexagons (one for each puzzle, showing whether you got it first time) can be shared without spoiling it for anyone else, and your streak grows each day you play.
Blitz, levels and Hard mode
60-second blitz: solve as many as you can in a minute. A wrong tap costs two seconds.
64 levels from Egg to Hive Mind: adding, times, negatives, fractions, decimals and mixed puzzles, up to four-digit numbers.
Trio: a harder rule, where one number is the sum of three others.
Big Hive: solve four small combs, then a final comb made of their answers.
Hard mode: one tap per puzzle. A wrong tap misses it, and shared results get a ★.
You can try it all free in your browser now, and Beequation Pro is coming soon to iPhone and Android, with no ads and no tracking.
